Kerin O’Rourke Buntin was born in Chicago, Illinois on the Feast day of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, January 4, 1966. Her mother was a homemaker and her father, who entered into eternal life in 2005, worked the ranks of the soft drink industry before retiring as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Born the fourth of seven girls and one brother, her primary vocation is wife and mother. Married on OCtober 5, the Feast day of Saint Faustina Kowalska, she and her husband received a Marriage blessing at the Vatican on their 25 Wedding Anniversary in 2016. Kerin and Eric are blessed with a son, Grantham Lloyd and a daughter, Shannon Noelle.
A witness to the faith is her aspiration to share a passion for all things holy and sacred inspired by Our Blessed Mother, Mary.
Her 2012 Masters in Pastoral Theology pastoral project is published by Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College titled A Model for Evangelization through Sacred Art and The Rite of Dedication of an Altar. There she describes the pastoral and theological reflection exercises of evangelization. The process lead to the commissioning of local artists for sacred liturgical art based on the document Built of Living Stones – Art, Architecture, and Worship, guidelines of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. A DVD of the altar consecration liturgy, Timothy L. Doherty, Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana presiding, is incorporated into the book.
Her ministry role at Saint Louis de Montfort Church in Fishers, Indiana in Liturgy and Art & Environment steeped a deep appreciation and gratitude for all things holy and sacred.
Her studies include: Notre Dame Center for Liturgy summer symposium on the Eucharist; and the New Roman Missal Translation at University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois; Harlaxton College, Grantham, England; and, a Bachelors degree in Communications Radio Television from Saint Joseph’s College in Indiana.
Led by Our beautiful Blessed Mother, her latest writing to be published is an invitation to the world in multiple languages. It is the action of Mother Teresa words, “I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.”
